Show broken images in Firefox

Missing image on a t-shirt Firefox is so "kind" to hide broken images or just displays the alt text without indicating that there should be an image. For regular visitors of your website that's good, because you don't want to be confronted with the red cross from MSIE. If you're a web developer using Firefox like me, you do want to see any broken image, whether it's from the CSS, static images for the design or just a part of the content.

I found a Show Missing Images plugin that does display broken images. Unfortunately it displays all Blogger button images in the editor as broken, so typing this entry felt like walking through my house blindfolded.

I haven't used it for months because it showed too many gifs as broken while they did exist.

Wow, this post looks like exactly what I want! But the link to the plugin no longer works? I've also searched the FF add-ons site, and can't find anything by this name. Do you know if perhaps it has been renamed to something else?

I have the same problem with some images, mostly gif's.

All of my images come up as broken links in Firefox, but come up fine in IE and Safari. Any ideas as to why? I'm using traditional HTML.
